                                               The Carousel

Pride of place in the carnival, all bright paint and flags unfurled,

Goes to the carousel, known as “Gullivers’ World.”

It normally spins, with prancing horses, but stands like a worn out mule,

The owner distraught, the children sad, no money for diesel fuel.

Then the owners wife has an idea, sweet memories of wedding banns,

She pawns her ring and with the money, gets diesel, five big cans

The engine starts, horses spin and prance, hear the sonorous organ sound,

Which all just proves, what I was told, Love makes the ‘World’ go round !
